On the east coast in Somers, CT at Pleasant View Golf Center, on October 13, 2013, Staggered held another one of there car shows, well-known for the diversity and also for the amount of cars that come out to show off what they got. Not only was it a perfect day, but the fall weather along with the changing leaves made the absolute most desirable scenery to house so many equally beautiful cars. Who knew the east coast could bring so many sweet rides in one place? The people, the atmosphere, and of course you can’t forget the cars, made for such an amazing day for those who call themselves gear-heads.

This final event for the season before the brutal midwest winters may have been far from Chicago, but it was definitely worth the drive. Located in Shawano Wi, the go-cart track offers something parking lots in the city can’t provide, crazy turns and steep slopes, making for quite the challenge and a beautiful setting.DD46-61DD46-1

There was even a good amount of diversity from the usual S-chassies like this 350Z that had no problems getting sideways, or this sc300.

DD46-4DD46-38DD46-26DD46-42DD46-37DD46-60

The cool air may not have been pleasant to stand around in, but the turbos loved it.DD46-62DD46-64DD46-19DD46-65Even though the drifting had to be called off early after only a few hours of drifting due to freezing rain, it was well worth the trip. We’ll bring more coverage of drift builds (or rebuilds from drift damage) over the winter, and video coverage of the event will be coming soon from Alex Nagy.

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.” – Jonathon Swift

Cars start out as canvases in which its owners not only attempt to portray art, but also convey their own sense of individuality and ingenuity. Because of social media’s influence on what a good car should look like, many people have initial trepidation to break out of the norm. Young Choi’s Lexus is anything but normal. It stuns those who see it with simplicity and attention to detail.

cxh6
As you can tell, Young’s wagon is not a common chassis for most car enthusiasts.
cxh5
It is amazing how clean this car is for being a daily driver.
cxh9

cxh2
White Work Emotion XT7′s offset well against the silver exterior.
cxh7
Young plans to add more power in the future and possibly make this into a drift machine.
cxh4
Drifting or not, Young’s static stance is always on point.

Every so often you see a car that literally makes you stop in your tracks, drop your jaw and mutter something along the lines of “holy shit…”. Phil’s S2000 is one of those cars for me. It doesn’t have the most modifications in the world but the ones that it does have, oh man, they make me moist.

Don’t be fooled though, this S2000 has the choicest mods such as these Work Rezax and neochrome lugs.

Who needs a hood when you have such an immaculate engine bay? In fact,  it would be a crime to hide it under a hood. Just look at the ARC goodness and engine dress up!

Nardi steering wheel, always a good look for 2 seat convertibles.

Shut Up and Take My Money l Chris’ Evo X http://carsxhype.com/2013/09/29/shut-up-and-take-my-money-l-chris-evo-x/ http://carsxhype.com/2013/09/29/shut-up-and-take-my-money-l-chris-evo-x/#comments Sun, 29 Sep 2013 21:38:27 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=27802 1

Individuality. It is the driving force which fuels car enthusiasts to build cars that not only baffle the media, but also galvanize them into fabricating their own sense of individuality. To which extent will one surpass to secure that individuality? Many cars in the game succumb to a cookie-cutter impression of this concept. With a modest set of wheels and a visual body drop, pretty much any person can say their car is idiosyncratic. Chris’ 2010 Mitsubishi Evo X is anything but average. His Evo X is laded with individuality and character.

2
Chris first saw the Evo X when he was 16, and he knew right away that it was his dream car. Having a clean look with an aggressive demeanor was the goal for his car.

5
To obtain his ideal fitment, Chris’ Evo sits nicely on a set of Stance GR+ SS-D coilovers.

10
“Although I am running on Varrstoens, I did it different from everyone else and went through the trouble of getting 1 piece rims powdercoated and also repolished. Not only that, I even made some custom center caps for them.”

13

12
For being in the game for one season, Chris has gained lots of ground in the car scene. He plans to drastically change the Evo X for next season. Maybe he will make a track beast, or maybe he will go even lower with another set of wheels and aero. All we know is that Chris will break necks with a showroom quality car.

Auto Gallery is always a big hit here in Southern California. Being that it is held right here at Huntington Beach, it is the perfect event to finish off the closing summer show season. With people gearing up to put away their show cars for the off-season, everyone at Auto Gallery finishes off the year with a bang. The event is not just about fast cars and low rides, it is about bringing car enthusiasts together to admire and applaud everyone’s dedication and sacrifice for their builds. Without further ado I present to you CarsxHype’s part 1 coverage of Auto Gallery 2013.

CarsxHype’s First So Cal Meet Irvine, CA # ##comments Sat, 03 Aug 2013 00:51:23 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=26727 IMG_4670

On Sunday, the Southern California CxH team brought you its first ever meet in Irvine, CA. We have here a few snaps from the event, and of course, wish to thank any and all who made it out to show support!

7/28/13 Marked Carsxhype’s first So Cal car meet. Despite a slight “hiccup” in the original venue, the meet still held about 100 or so cars that came through throughout the night. Civics, Subaru’s, Scions, and Nissans were among the makes that attended, with the night being marked by the appearance of a Ferrari and a certain RHD JDM fanboy favorite (yes, an authentic Skyline showed up). For your viewing pleasure, we present a few snapshots from the first of hopefully many more So Cal meets.

We also wish to thank all those who were very understanding of the venue change, and their willingness to still attend. As with all things, our site’s members have grown with the site, and the team’s collective experience has grown as well. With that said, we hope to bring you even bigger and better meets in the future!

Let’s start things off nice and easy with a few Civics…

WEKFEST V | San Jose Convention Center | 7.27.2013 # ##comments Fri, 02 Aug 2013 00:59:24 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=26499 LM-0080

A different venue and time of the year for one of biggest shows on the west coast right now, WEKFEST SF! The best of the best vehicles come out and show for this event from classic’s to exotic’s, from northern California to southern California. Maybe it is because of the new venue but no ridiculous lines compared to the ones from past years in San Francisco, and thats a good thing in my book. All in all it was a different vibe!

LM-0074

eGarage’s RWB Porsche was just chilling in the corner of the venue!

LM-0076

I really liked this Evasive FRS. Something different!

LM-0083 LM-0015

Function or Form? Battle of the root beer colored Integra’s!

LM-0204

This LS400 was killing it with the fat lipped Veilside Andrew V’s!

LM-0243

Twerk team! Stay tuned for a feature from this crazy wagon!

LM-0193

One of the many sick xB’s that we’re at the show.

LM-0032 LM-0028 LM-0011 LM-0053 LM-0110 LM-0124 LM-0120 LM-0130 LM-0165 LM-0309

Choose your wheel set up!

LM-0131 LM-0132

No word’s needed to explain this… but this was on a whole new level! I give credit to JDM Palace!!!

LM-0248 LM-0247

Bling bling Engine bays! It’s hard to set your self apart so you got to go all out, believe it or not both these engine bays are of Integra DC2′s.

LM-0020 LM-0355

Cant go wrong with classic euros!

LM-0151

It’s crazy how big WEKFEST has become. This GS came all the way from Texas and took best of show this year! Cant wait to see what’s in store for WEKFEST next year!
