Staggered Fall Edition http://carsxhype.com/2013/10/30/staggered-fall-edition/ http://carsxhype.com/2013/10/30/staggered-fall-edition/#comments Wed, 30 Oct 2013 19:53:59 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=28001 By Corey Smiley, on Flickr

On the east coast in Somers, CT at Pleasant View Golf Center, on October 13, 2013, Staggered held another one of there car shows, well-known for the diversity and also for the amount of cars that come out to show off what they got. Not only was it a perfect day, but the fall weather along with the changing leaves made the absolute most desirable scenery to house so many equally beautiful cars. Who knew the east coast could bring so many sweet rides in one place? The people, the atmosphere, and of course you can’t forget the cars, made for such an amazing day for those who call themselves gear-heads.

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.” – Jonathon Swift

Cars start out as canvases in which its owners not only attempt to portray art, but also convey their own sense of individuality and ingenuity. Because of social media’s influence on what a good car should look like, many people have initial trepidation to break out of the norm. Young Choi’s Lexus is anything but normal. It stuns those who see it with simplicity and attention to detail.

cxh6
As you can tell, Young’s wagon is not a common chassis for most car enthusiasts.
cxh5
It is amazing how clean this car is for being a daily driver.
cxh9

cxh2
White Work Emotion XT7′s offset well against the silver exterior.
cxh7
Young plans to add more power in the future and possibly make this into a drift machine.
cxh4
Drifting or not, Young’s static stance is always on point.

Phil’s Phenomenal S2000 http://carsxhype.com/2013/10/02/phils-phenomenal-s2000/ http://carsxhype.com/2013/10/02/phils-phenomenal-s2000/#comments Wed, 02 Oct 2013 19:23:31 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=27836

Every so often you see a car that literally makes you stop in your tracks, drop your jaw and mutter something along the lines of “holy shit…”. Phil’s S2000 is one of those cars for me. It doesn’t have the most modifications in the world but the ones that it does have, oh man, they make me moist.

Don’t be fooled though, this S2000 has the choicest mods such as these Work Rezax and neochrome lugs.

Who needs a hood when you have such an immaculate engine bay? In fact,  it would be a crime to hide it under a hood. Just look at the ARC goodness and engine dress up!

Nardi steering wheel, always a good look for 2 seat convertibles.

engine:
polished ARC intake
J’s Racing test pipe
J’s Racing oil cap
J’s Racing radiator cap
Mishimoto radiator
Spoon radiator hoses
polished Alloy Craft radiator cooling panel
polished Alloy Craft fusebox/battery cover
polished GP Fab brake master cover
SnailMotorsports powdercoated valve cover
Moddiction titanium bolts and washers
HKS dual exhaust

interior:
Nardi woodgrain steering wheel
J’s Racing titanium shift knob

Works Bell quick release
Burberry armpad

SnailMotorsports powdercoated Work Rezax 18×10 +6 Front and 18X11 +6 Rear

camber:

The front profile is jaw drop mode. The rear poke and camber is amazing.

If you’re ever in Vegas, look for Phil’s car and try not to break your neck ;)

Fatlace never ceases to hold great shows. They have come to be known as a worldwide ambassador of spreading the flush game to all the carheads of the world. With Fatlace traveling the world so much and spreading the name, it seems like they sometimes forget about their home up here in Norcal. This year however was on point, with a lot of the big Norcal crews coming out to support the show. Bringing some of the best that Norcal has to offer.

48
Slammed Society often goes hand in hand with a motorsport event, such as Formula D in Long Beach. This being Norcal they picked a perfect location at the Sonoma raceway, where they showcased the World Touring Car Championships (WTCC). It was a great way to introduce the premier of the World Touring car races, to those who have never heard of them before. Of course, being that the event was held at the Sonoma Raceway known for their infamous Sonoma drift, there was of course a Drift demo on the track & a large presence of drift cars that entered into the show.

49
Such a sick Zenki! Most people buy s14s & immediately swap them with Kouki fronts, this one stayed Zenki and pulled off a great look

Every second Sunday of every month illest OC holds its “Slammed Sundays” car meet in collaboration with Royal Origin. With a lots of parking space on the street and a small parking lot in their plaza, it is the perfect place to hold a car meet. The event isn’t entirely about cars, but about community and having good vibes to end the weekend fun. With nice cars, food trucks, and illest showcasing their Fall Colletction, Sundays may now be highlight of every car enthusiast’s weekend.

This past weekend Team NvUS hosted a collaborated car meet to introduce the new Pure Vapor shop in Walnut, CA. The event consisted of over one hundred cars each with its own sense of style. Team NvUS has some of the best civics in the car scene. Although Team NvUS may not be as old as other car groups, it is one of the fastest growing teams in America with chapters in many different states. “We support those who support us.”

James Oliver’s Luscious LS400 # ##comments Mon, 12 Aug 2013 14:30:27 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=26895 1
James’ LS400 stretched very very long ways to become where it’s at today. From a negelected form of transportation to a remarkable work of art. The transformation from start to finish is jawdropping. The amount of work that James put into this car really shows you how a real car enthusiast should be.

2
That fresh paint tho. Can you guess the color? James had this car in the shop for nearly 3 months
working out all the dings, dents, and custom fender work then when it was finally time for the paint,
he chose the best white for any car out there, Porsche Cayenne Sandweiss.

3

4
Sittin’ pretty on Work Ryvers Diamond Cut Finish with Black Windows; James’ fitment is on point. VIPs are all going air now. why? The level of comfort, luxury, and function is beyond limits a coilover system can provide. James is currently running a UAS Air system with two VIAIR air compressors and a 4 gallon tank.

5 (1)

5 (2)
Favorite Question of the Day: “Is your car broken? Do you need help?” No I’m okay haha my car is on bags. “Bags?” Air Bags. “ohhh”

6 (4)

5 (6)
Surprisingly, James drives this car daily to work all the way to LA. Even though LA roads are a pain in the butt, he makes sure this car up to date on it’s maintenance  and is comfortable and functional enough for a daily driver.

5 (7)
“My inspiration would be VIP Cars in Japan! It really hit me even before on my previous car I styled it as VIP Inspired. But the best inspiration is probably my crew/family StyleSixtyThree! Always bringing new stuffs to the table and always giving me ideas on what would stand out on my car.” – James Oliver

5 (8)

5 (11)
James replaced the boring OEM Side Mirrors with authentic JDM Toyota Celsior Side Mirrors equipped with
LED turn signals & LED puddle light

5 (12)

6 (5)
It takes lots of patience and money to build such an authentic car like James’ LS400 or also known as Toyota Celsior in Japan. James’ car is full of authentic Japanese parts bumper to bumper! From emblems to fender markers to bumper lights. Hes got it all!!5

6 (3)
The deleted antenna, sidemarkers, and windshield sprinklers really give this car a cleaner finish.

7 (3)

7 (4)
Now the white angel is getting a little dark side. My favorite picture of the day
STAY TUNED FOR A VIDEO!

7 (2)
It’s been an honor to work with James and keep an eye on his build! Extreme makeover happening soon.

7 (1)
A Special Thanks from James:

I wanted to thank of course my parents for understanding my hobby even though it cost so much money. Hi MOM! Monard, Matthew, Kevin, Nino, Anthony, Tom, Randy, Jonathan, Drew. CarsxHype’s First So Cal Meet Irvine, CA # ##comments Sat, 03 Aug 2013 00:51:23 +0000 http://carsxhype.com/?p=26727 IMG_4670

On Sunday, the Southern California CxH team brought you its first ever meet in Irvine, CA. We have here a few snaps from the event, and of course, wish to thank any and all who made it out to show support!

7/28/13 Marked Carsxhype’s first So Cal car meet. Despite a slight “hiccup” in the original venue, the meet still held about 100 or so cars that came through throughout the night. Civics, Subaru’s, Scions, and Nissans were among the makes that attended, with the night being marked by the appearance of a Ferrari and a certain RHD JDM fanboy favorite (yes, an authentic Skyline showed up). For your viewing pleasure, we present a few snapshots from the first of hopefully many more So Cal meets.

We also wish to thank all those who were very understanding of the venue change, and their willingness to still attend. As with all things, our site’s members have grown with the site, and the team’s collective experience has grown as well. With that said, we hope to bring you even bigger and better meets in the future!

Let’s start things off nice and easy with a few Civics…
