For the first time in Mazda history, all of these Mazda legends were showcased at the same event.

Thank you Miura Masato for coming out from MZ Racing, Japan! It has been a great honor shooting with you. Next time we meet I will be able to speak more Japanese!

Although I haven’t slept right in the past few days and have been running around taking pictures for hours, I am still very humbled to be part of this experience. Passion drives me to work hard. It’s not about the money or the fame, but for the people I love to work with. I hope to see you guys next year!

Cars start out as canvases in which its owners not only attempt to portray art, but also convey their own sense of individuality and ingenuity. Because of social media’s influence on what a good car should look like, many people have initial trepidation to break out of the norm. Young Choi’s Lexus is anything but normal. It stuns those who see it with simplicity and attention to detail.

As you can tell, Young’s wagon is not a common chassis for most car enthusiasts.

It is amazing how clean this car is for being a daily driver.

Young plans to add more power in the future and possibly make this into a drift machine.

A different venue and time of the year for one of biggest shows on the west coast right now, WEKFEST SF! The best of the best vehicles come out and show for this event from classic’s to exotic’s, from northern California to southern California. Maybe it is because of the new venue but no ridiculous lines compared to the ones from past years in San Francisco, and thats a good thing in my book. All in all it was a different vibe!

Hello CxH fans, It is good to be back. After a few months of not blogging due to a very busy schedule at work and some new found hobbies, I’m finally back as efficient as I can. In that note; Jonathan Yu and I would like to present you our 2 part coverage of Spocom 2012 Anaheim held at the Anaheim Convention Center!

Spocom USA has been one of the leading car shows in Southern California is now in a world wide tour and one of their stop was at The Anaheim Convention Center in which I was very excited because of their mission to provide and promote the diverse youth cultures that we have. Did I Also mention this is my first time ever showing my car in a big show?! .. LoL

At the Entrance to the show, one will be greeted by this magnificent display of automotive art and high caliber show cars from team TWC.

Perhaps one of the most important and overlooked parts of being a tuner is having access to a shop you can TRUST. Go to any local shop in your neighborhood with your slammed car and I guarantee you they will run for the hills. Most shops absolutely despise working on modified cars and some won’t even work on them at all. After leaving the shop, unserviced, shop owners will even talk trash on your car and the whole modified car scene all together. In a world where people like us are rejected by mainstream mechanics, it’s nice to come to a place where you and your car can feel at home.

While 714 TIRES is relatively new to the industry starting just a few years ago in 2009, it’s roots go way back to another business in 2005 called Discount Autowerks. It was a thriving business in the performance parts industries and continually grew into a one stop shop for all your servicing needs. 714 TIRES is the new chapter for business owned by David Tran.

As you can probably tell, 714 TIRES is no stranger to the Socal car scene. It’s enthusiast aimed customer base has brought in famous groups like BP VIP, Goodfeeling, Liberty VIP, Rotiform, Royal Origin, Shady OC, Style Sixty-Three, Team Showcase, and Useless. “Our main focus at 714 TIRES is to aim at tuner car enthusiast… when customers ask if we know how to work on tuner cars, we can proudly say YES!” I know this to be true in many ways. What’s your view on stanced cars?

“Wrenching in my garage and hitting the car shows during the mid 1990’s, the style of stanced cars has changed a great deal. The stances of a car can make a car look totally different. Honestly, you can take any car, even a 1980’s rusted Toyota Cressida and slam it with SSR wheels and turn it to a winning show car. Working on stanced cars can be a pain sometimes. Everyone has their own styles, fitments, rims and suspension. 80% of the time, there are fitment problems. LOL. Making it fit and watching the car roll out of the shop is like an art in motion, all the hard work put into it is worth it. 714 TIRES is known for working on stance cars and we push our limits on tire fitments. We get tons of calls and emails daily from people from all over the area and some tire/tuner shops asking us for tire fitment specs and alignment specs.” – David

Low Low Prices for Low Low Cars

The process for buying tires is often accompanied by miscellaneous bull***t at your local crappy tire. You stroll in, get asked a billion unnecessary questions, then get quoted on a tire price. Then you bust out your online tire prices to try to get price matched. They call their managers and after 15 minutes of discussion a price is agreed upon. You think great I’m going to get a good price on my tires. Then you receive the bill about an hour later and there’s $100-$200 of fees in labor, mounting, balancing, and warranties you don’t really need. Why does this have to be so complicated?

At 714 TIRES it’s simple, you give them a call with the tires you want, they give you a price much cheaper than you’d expect, and that’s the price you pay! That’s it! They don’t charge you for miscellaneous tire fees, tire disposal, mounting, balancing, labor or any of that! Because of this, their prices are unbeatable! In fact, they often will hook up customers if referred to by the right people. You don’t have to wait a whole hour just for tires either. I don’t think I’ve stayed longer than 15-20 minutes total for changing a set of tires unless I get caught up in a conversation with David or other tuners there.

So it’s no mystery David is a car guy himself, but I was a bit surprised to find out he has owned a total of 11 cars in the past! All of which he says were hooked up. It started with a brand new 01′ Accord V6 modded with $5000 3-piece 19” forged wheels and tons of carbon fiber. From then he moved on to a variety of cars including BMW’s, Honda’s, RHD Mini Coopers, and my favorite a NA1 NSX. He currently owns a Turbo Saab 9-5 wagon, and a B20 V-Tech Civic for the track. With a background in cars like that it’s no wonder why this shop has grown so successful.

So while there are hundreds of shops out there that will scrape your car, bash your lip, or ruin your camber, there is one we can trust. Next time you need an alignment or a set of tires don’t even think about going over to SEARS or America’s Tire, they probably won’t even work on your fitted car. Give 714 Tires a call and I guarantee you they will hook you up with a good price and stretch whatever tire you need.

It’s been a while since this photog has posted! Last Sunday I hit up M&M Donuts located in Anaheim, CA once again to see how things are going. For those unfamiliar, the ongoing meet has drawn mixed reviews for the amount of “mixed” cars that show up. From cleanly modded cars, to “race inspired cosmetically enhanced” cars, one thing is for certain: the meet always draws in a large crowd of some 200 imports and domestics. Before you read on, you should be aware of the amount of civics (mostly 8th gen) that showed. While I am a Honda fan, there were many even by my own standards.

With that said, enjoy the photos and light coverage.

Meeting Ronald Santos was better that expected. Ronald is a pretty down to earth kind of guy, being in the car game for a while, Ronalds WRX is well known as the bagged WRX.He also has matching dunks to match his rims.

Ronald gots a couple of mods going on. His engine mods are Cobb accessport v2, Titek catless downpipe, HkS hi power exhaust, and a K&N typhoon intake

Suspension goes far when you buy the right parts, his wrx is supported by Airlift air suspension (bags and struts), Airlift manifolds, Airlift 3 gallon tank, Viair compressor, AVS switchbox, Airlift gauges
