On the east coast in Somers, CT at Pleasant View Golf Center, on October 13, 2013, Staggered held another one of there car shows, well-known for the diversity and also for the amount of cars that come out to show off what they got. Not only was it a perfect day, but the fall weather along with the changing leaves made the absolute most desirable scenery to house so many equally beautiful cars. Who knew the east coast could bring so many sweet rides in one place? The people, the atmosphere, and of course you can’t forget the cars, made for such an amazing day for those who call themselves gear-heads.

This final event for the season before the brutal midwest winters may have been far from Chicago, but it was definitely worth the drive. Located in Shawano Wi, the go-cart track offers something parking lots in the city can’t provide, crazy turns and steep slopes, making for quite the challenge and a beautiful setting.

There was even a good amount of diversity from the usual S-chassies like this 350Z that had no problems getting sideways, or this sc300.

The cool air may not have been pleasant to stand around in, but the turbos loved it.Even though the drifting had to be called off early after only a few hours of drifting due to freezing rain, it was well worth the trip. We’ll bring more coverage of drift builds (or rebuilds from drift damage) over the winter, and video coverage of the event will be coming soon from Alex Nagy.

Its not often that you see tuned TL’s, but when you see ones like these two your jaw drops to the floor. What we have today are two examples of how gorgeous TL’s can look, Samad’s Static 2008 White Diamond Pearl Acura TL Type-S and Michael’s Bagged 2007 Nighthawk Black Pearl Acura TL Type-S are certainly neck breakers.

   First we start off with Michael’s Bagged 2007 TL-S. He got the idea to buy and tune a TL after seeing them at the dealer he works at again and again and he just simply fell in love with them. He decided to go with bags over coilovers because at that time no one else in the midwest had a bagged 3rd gen, he got his inspiration from a TL from cali that was known as “Grape Jelly”. The bags are his favotire part of the car, he loves to be able to change the height of the car at the touch of a button.

Michael has owned this TL since December 2012 and it has certainly changed a lot since then. He has been around cars his whole life and has always loved them, and now he has made a masterpiece of his own.

The wheels are SSR Vienna Merisia (19×9.5 and 19×10), there are currently only 2 other sets in all of North America!

Michael would like to thank his team Aficionado. Without them he wouldn’t be where he is today.

Samad’s TL-S is the opposite of Michael’s, it is static rather than bagged but still damn low. He has owned the car since August 23, 2010. He said “The TL-S was an impulse buy. I was 18 years old when I first wanted a sports sedan. I really wanted the Lexus ISF, but after getting rejected by the bank 3 times in a span of a year, I decided to quit on that car. Then while I was driving home from the dealership, I then saw the Acura TL Type-s in front on me. The quad exhaust, the power and the overall look of the car made me search online for a TL-S in the area. Next thing you know, I had a 2008 White Diamond Pearl Acura TL Type-S sitting in my driveway.”

Samad originally planned to keep the car stock, he just wanted to build his credit so he could finally get the Lexus ISF he first was out to get. Then he found Acurazine, and then soon after his began to get lighter and lighter. The styling of the car was all done from scratch; there wasn’t a certain look that he was going for. Basically any parts he liked on other cars, he implemented those ideas on to his own car. He said the motto of his build was “this car has to be unique”. Samad’s favorite part of the car is the ride height. He said “It boggles people’s minds when they find out that I not only daily this slammed car in a low-car Unfriendly place city, like Chicago; I also do deliveries in it for my job.”

I asked Samad what kind of impact he wanted his car to have on people and he said “I want people to look at my car and say “DAMN!” then take out their phones and “Instagram that joint”. I wanted a car that is very common yet very unique. I love it when people compliment this car. “Your car just made my year. Ahhhhhh this car is better than tittes”, “Hottest and cleanest TL I’ve ever seen”, “Is that car illegal?!?” These are some quotes that people have said and it makes my love the car even more.”

MDU is back for Rd. 3, this time it was hosted on the Streets of Detroit. It was certainly an awesome spot to host the event, certainly one of the most unique events of the series! Mike Skudlarek took his 2nd win of the 3 events this season. All the drivers did incredible, everyone was trying their hardest to push their cars to the limits.
